Oklahoma State scored seven of its eight runs with two outs, as Cowgirls claimed an 8-2 victory over the Nebraska softball team Sunday in the Huskers’ final road game of the season at Cowgirl Stadium.

The Huskers had to play catchup after Oklahoma State scored the first three runs of the game. Although Nebraska was able to cut the lead to two, the Huskers got no closer and fell to 1-10 in conference play and 17-23 overall.

Junior Crystal Carwile homered for the second time in three games to give Nebraska its first run of the game. Carwile finished 2-for-3 and scored both Husker runs, while fellow junior Meghan Mullin recorded her 100th career hit with a first-inning single.

Molly Hill fell to 7-12 on the season. Hill worked 42/3 innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits; four of the hits she allowed came with two outs, as did both of her walks. Alex Hupp allowed one run on one hit while walking one batter and hitting another.

Kelli Linke closed out the game, marking her career debut in the circle. In 11/3 innings, Linke did not allow a run and gave up just one hit.

Nebraska opens up a season-ending nine-game homestand beginning Wednesday with a doubleheader against North Dakota State.
