NU softball falls to Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State broke Nebraska’s seven-game softball win streak at Cowgirl Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., with a 3-1 win against the Huskers on Saturday.
Nebraska also had a five-game winning streak against OSU snapped.
The Huskers (17-22 overall and 1-9 in the Big 12) tied the school record for most conference losses in a season. The Huskers finished 9-9 in 2005.
Sophomore Alex Hupp took the loss, walking five batters.
Nebraska took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning before the Cowgirls came back with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Katelyn Bright led off the inning with a bloop double to left-center and Alysia Hamilton walked. Kim Kaye then hit a 2-2 pitch to right for an RBI double to tie the game.
With one out, Hupp walked her fifth batter, loading the bases, before being relieved by junior Molly Hill.
Hill then gave up a two-run single to Ashley Boyd to account for the final score.
Grand Island freshman Heidi Foland scored the only run for NU.
