A 24-year-old Lincoln man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly pulled a gun on a teenager accused of stealing a laptop computer.

An 18-year-old woman brought the computer to a party at 72nd Street and Eastborough Lane, so she could listen to music, and noticed it was missing when she went to leave, Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said.

Robert J. Cummins, of 110 College Park Rd. No. 104, went to 367 Prestwick Road just before 3:30 a.m. and confronted a 17-year-old boy over the computer.

There, police believe, Cummins pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the teenager.

Cummins was arrested shortly after and taken to the Lancaster County Jail, where he remained Sunday afternoon.

Officers searched Cummins’ house after the incident and found a loaded 9 mm handgun magazine and a shoulder holster.
