* SOFTBALL: Nebraska junior pitcher Molly Hill was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII team. Hill, who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA in speech-language pathology, received her second straight first-team selection.
* WRESTLING: Nebraska All-Americans Craig Brester and Stephen Dwyer were selected to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team. Brester, a sophomore mechanized systems major, was honored for the second consecutive season. Dwyer, a sophomore who has not declared a major, was selected for the first time.
* GOLF: Three former Huskers are competing in the Nationwide Tour event in Fort Smith, Ark. Steve Friesen finished with a first-round 68, while Scott Gutschewski had a 71 and Judd Cornell a 76. … The Nebraska women are fifth after the opening round of the NCAA Central Regional in Austin, Texas. Nebraska had a 6-over-par score of 294. Senior Elli Brown was the top Husker with an even-par 72. UCLA leads with a 283.
