Erbert & Gerbert’s, the sandwich shop that opened in September in the former Homer’s space on North 14th Street, has closed. So has the Java Zone coffee shop that shared its space.

The (402) is rounding up info on restaurants, bars, shops and similar businesses that are opening or closing. But we need your help: Tell us if you know of info for this column, or if you want to know what’s being built or coming to a site in Lincoln. We’ll see if we can find out. Contact Micah Mertes at 473-7395 or mmertes@journalstar.com.

" What?! I loved Erbert and Gerbert's. They had the fastest delivery and such good food. I'll miss their box lunches. "

" Those ridiculous names they saddled their sandwiches with probably didn't help much. I always felt more than a little foolish ordering something called "The Girf" or "The Bornk." "

" if you can't last at least 1 year of slow business don't even open up shop.

" I just saw today that Erbert & Gerbert's has closed. I was at lunch and was in the mood for a strawberry pudder.... I was very saddened to see the place cleaned up and closed. Now where am I going to eat downtown that has wifi, great service, clean area, awesome atmosphere, and terrific food?!?! "
