NU women draw Xavier

The Nebraska women drew a No. 8 seed and will play Xavier in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Huskers are in the Spokane (Wash.) Regional and will open the tournament in College Park, Md.

The winner will likely play No. 1 seed Maryland. The Terps will play Coppin State in the first round.

Xavier hails from the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Musketeers won their second straight conference tournament title and will enter the tournament at 24-8. They have won seven of their past eight games.

The Husker women are making their second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. They lost to Temple as a nine seed in last year’s first round in Raleigh, N.C.
