Nebraska tight end Hunter Teafatiller pleaded guilty in court Monday to driving under the influence in Lincoln in August.

Lancaster County Judge Laurie Yardley sentenced Teafatiller, 21, to nine months of probation and impounded his license for 60 days.

His attorney, Peter Blakeslee, told Yardley that Teafatiller already had lost his license for 90 days following the stop Aug. 4.

It was shortly before 1:30 a.m. that day when a Nebraska State Patrol trooper stopped Teafatiller, a junior from Kingsburg, Calif., for driving with a headlight out. According to the Lancaster County Attorney’s Office, he had bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of alcohol on his breath.

The then-20-year-old’s blood-alcohol level tested .097. The legal limit for those over 21 is .08.
