Things start cooking at Ninth and South

 If things go as planned 9 South Chargrill will be open May 4, said owner Brett Richardson.

Richardson said he plans a “soft opening” that day, which is a Friday, with a full opening planned for the following Sunday.

The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m . to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Richardson, who said he helped open Lincoln’s Macaroni Grill in 2000, described the restaurant as both sit down and take out. The menu will run the gamut from burgers and steaks to duck and veal.

The restaurant will not serve alcohol when it opesn, but Richardson said he hopes to eventually get a liquor license.
