A new nursery has opened for business, just blocks from the Haymarket. Urban Trail Gardens opened Wednesday timed with the first day of spring at the corner of Fourth and F streets in the South Salt Creek Neighborhood.

The nursery will specialize in unique annuals and perennials, vegetables, hanging baskets and container gardens, owner Ron Harvey said. “We try to lean toward more unusual items,” he said.

Beside retail sales, the business will provide landscaping and design services. Harvey also plans to participate in the Lincoln Farmers’ Market this year.

The business operated out of Crete for the past two years, but everything now has been moved to the Lincoln location, Harvey said.

Urban Trail Gardens is open for business seven days a week.
