Game Balls: Colorado
By the Lincoln Journal Star
Adam Carriker, NU defensive end
Carriker continued his late-season surge, finishing with seven tackles, including two sacks. The 6-foot-6, 295-pound senior constantly was in the Colorado backfield. “I thought he dominated the game,” said NU coach Bill Callahan, who touted Carriker for All-Big 12 honors. Voters might consider that he has five sacks in the last four games.

Joe Ganz, NU quarterback
Ganz now has a nifty 208.83 passing-efficiency rating after his 29-yard TD pass to Barry Turner on a second-quarter trick play. With Sam Keller in the mix, it’s hard to say what the future holds for NU’s No. 2 quarterback next season, but it’s good to see the sophomore reaping some rewards for his efforts.

Brandon Jackson, NU running back
CU’s defense thrived on wearing down running backs. The Buffs were ranked 25th against the run (105.4 yards per game). OU’s Allen Patrick had been the only back to crack 100 yards (110) vs. CU, and he needed 35 carries. Jackson got 142 yards on 34 attempts and finished with a NU-record 41 all-purpose touches.

Barry Turner, NU defensive end
Turner will make the highlight films with his touchdown grab. But his hustle to keep Jordon Congdon's quick-kick punt out of the end zone was amazing. That led to a safety on the next play that essentially put Colorado away for good.
