If you need to renew your driver’s license you will be out of luck for most of this week.

All of Nebraska’s 98 license offices will be closed Monday through Thursday for essential training in fraud detection, computer use and customer service. Offices will re-open on Friday.

" Are you serious!! All DMV offices in the state are closed for 4 days! Ummm, that just seems like a ridiculous mismanagement of time. They couldn't do the fraud detection in platoons or shifts?? I guess that's what happens when the state is involved. "

" Someone has to say it, "what a waste of the taxpayers money." "

" Wouldn't it be more of a waste of taxpayers money if the state were required to pay the presenters at this conference to make more than one appearance? To pay to rent a conference room for several different "shifts"? Might be an inconvience to you, but I bet you wouldn't be complaining in the future if your identity was stolen and the employees at the exam station prevented someone from using it to get an ID in your name! Is it really a "mismanagement of time" and a "waste of money" or do you just like to complain? "

" Hmmm, close all the offices and train everyone at once (thus paying the trainers for one session) or do it in shifts and pay the trainers multiple times. Sounds like excellent cost-savings to me. Way to go state employees! "

" Give me a break! FOUR DAYS???? What a waste. I'd like to see how the customer service portion of this training goes. You will NEVER feel like a customer doing business at DMV. "

" here's an idea, how bout the state bid for multiple training session at the one training session price. i.e. per person going through the training than we wouldn't have to put up with the office being closed. Guess I may not decide to renew my license because I have training at work and can't leave. I'll drive for free! no wheel tax for me! "
