Starting Friday, the public gets the first look at Westfield Gateway’s $45 million makeover. During grand opening ceremonies that start at 5:30 p.m., the mall at 61st and O streets will unveil its new food court and center court, the centerpiece of which is a hand-carved Italian carousel.

The family lounge, which will have changing stations, private nursing rooms and private restrooms with adult and child-size fixtures, is also debuting.

There will be other opening events going on all weekend.
