Nebraska third baseman Alex Gordon, a sophomore from LincolnSoutheast, gained his third all-America honor on Friday when he was tabbed as the third baseman on Collegiate Baseball's first team.

Earlier this week, Gordon was honored as a first-team All-American by both Sports Weekly and Louisville Slugger.

Gordon, the Big 12 Conference player of the year, led the Huskers in almost every offensive category this season -batting (.365), home runs (18), RBIs (75), on-base percentage (.493), slugging percentage (.754), hits, (77), runs scored (64), doubles (18), triples (5), total bases (159) and walks (47). He also stole 12 bases, started all 59 games and played in 520 of 524 innings in the field.

Trey Adams, a junior college all-America outfielder from Blinn (Texas) College, has signed a national letter-of-intent to play baseball for Nebraska beginning with the 2005 season.

Adams, a high school teammate of current Husker Brandon Fusilier, chose the Huskers over Texas Christian.

"Ichose Nebraska because the Big 12 is the premier conference in college baseball and I want an opportunity to go to the College World Series,"Adams said.

Adams hit .420 with five home runs and 42 RBIs for Blinn last season. He also had 23 doubles, six triples and 21 stolen bases.
